I was in Honolulu for work. So happy with this stay! The room was super clean and well-equipped. Juan at the front desk was so helpful and amazing for the two days I spent here. Charlie, the bartender, makes amazing drinks and he is a customer service king. Highly recommend it!

I had the great pleasure of staying at the AC Hotel Honolulu three times, each for long stays. Having never been to Hawaii before, I did not know what to expect, but the hotel exceeded my expectations—as did downtown Honolulu. I wished to avoid the touristy Waikiki area but I also wanted to stay at a first-rate hotel. The AC Hotel Honolulu offers that experience. A hotel is often judged on the basis of its staff. The staff—from the valets to housekeeping to the front desk—are highly professional and unfailingly polite. There is valet service 24/7, and even though I did not have a car, I enjoyed getting to know the valets because they stand at the entrance of the hotel on Bishop Street, Honolulu’s main street, where I could see them each day as I left in the morning and returned in the late afternoon. The rooms are very well designed, compact but with desks, storage, and closet space. As a long stay guest who did go the grocery store, I appreciated having a small refrigerator for my food stash. I also was gratified to have a safe. On other trips, it has been exceedingly awkward to have to take my valuables with me each day. The hotel thoughtfully provides two waters for guests parched from long-haul flights. There is a coffee-and-tea service supplied in the room; in addition guests can partake of a continental breakfast at no extra charge. If that is not enough the hotel complex includes a charming espresso shop that includes gifts for guests who have no time for shopping. As one of the very few hotels in downtown Honolulu, it was important that the AC Hotel enhance city life, and it does more than its share, with a fine dining restaurant and a night club open to the public. The valets just outside the front door also add to city life because they are a cheerful presence and are there to greet guests, whether hotel or community patrons. For me, this hotel has an obvious urban mission. Its central location makes it easy to walk to one of the many city attractions, including the historic palaces and Chinatown. Even the beautiful waterfront is not far away. For business travelers, the AC is the obvious choice. I met one in the elevator who travels extensively and seemed pleased to have a hotel that caters to his needs. While in some minds, Honolulu is synonymous with Waikiki, there is much more to this metropolitan area than sea and sand. I preferred to partake of the life of the resident Hawaiians rather than be among fellow tourists. The AC Hotel Honolulu gave me this privilege.

These pics are quite representative of my stay! Delish foods with a spectacular flare! Marriott knows how to hire the best of chefs! Now, I bumped into an awesome server who listened to my desires for very specific tastes and made perfect suggestions !!! This server, Kim, even created a signature drink with my desires for a tart but island taste (pix with cherry & lemon brine)!!! Enjoy the chef's twist on the purple potato (Ube dessert), delicious mix of chocolates, healthier salad options too! Front desk specialists are knowledgeable, caring and make you feel like you want to stay forever Parking attendants are absolutely amazing! Very careful with car, and available honestly 24/7 with superb customer service! Thank you Kim, Marriott staff, Parking attendants, and Marriott for making mine an awesome stay!

I had a great stay at this hotel and will absolutely be back. I was in town for six days for work and to visit friends. The room was very clean, comfortable, and just the right size. The air conditioning is well maintained -- quiet and clean. Staff throught the hotel, from valet, front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping -- were consistently very friendly and kind. The location is great -- walkable to the excellent restaurants and coffee shops in Chinatown, to the botanical garden, art museum, palace, etc. I look forward to my next stay.

I went to this hotel, which a friend recommended. I did a walk-in check-in at the front desk. The woman at the front desk was super kind and welcoming. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the lobby and had great expectations for the room. Since I was alone, she ensured I had a room with a single bed. The room, shower, toilet, and bed were impressive and clean. I even went to the bar and had a wonderful experience; the drinks and food were excellent. Even checking out was simple and easy. If you’re looking for a hotel with a great location, this is the place, especially with everything within walking distance.

Our late afternoon flight was delayed by about 10 hours and we needed a place to hang out until we could take off. We booked a room last minute and didn’t know what to expect, but were really happy with the whole experience. The staff were wonderful, the room was clean and the restaurant had a great menu for the family. The location is in downtown Honolulu, which is kind of dead on a Saturday night, but it’s close to a lot of museums and historical sites. If we knew ahead of time we would be there, we would have planned to check some of them out. Highly recommend if you want a quiet and clean place that isn’t in the middle of all the tourist chaos.
